Around 1925, with a focus on good governance at the Congregation, a new initiative was begun to provide Teacher’s Training to Sisters to prepare them for the role of headmistresses of various elementary schools. Many more schools were begun in the subsequent years and some Primary schools were converted into High schools. The very first English Medium School under the Congregation was opened in 1961 at Anantapur. The St. Ann’s English Medium Elementary School set up at Vijayanagar Colony , Hyderabad in 1965 was a far sighted move that eventually led to the establishment of a University College in the vicinity. The Educational Apostolate witnessed major growth in the subsequent years with the opening of many Upper Primary English Medium Schools under various Diocese.

Many of the Elementary Schools  were upgraded to High Schools and the Junior College at V N Colony , Hyderabad was upgraded to a Degree College in 1983. The period post 1990 saw a tremendous growth in terms of the new Convents, Schools and Colleges established under the Congregation. New PG Courses were begun at some of the Colleges along with starting a Pharmacy College at Vizianagaram in 2007. Other initiatives include opening vocational training centres, school of nursing, residential schools, hostels and boarding homes.

The main goal of the Educational Apostolate has been to provide all round development and empower students to be problem solvers, effective communicators and life-long learners in today’s global scenario. Our educational institutes endeavour to prepare students along three dimensions: ‘ The Material Aspect’ : Necessary skills to acquire a good livelihood and high standards of living, a cultural aspect that endows them with knowledge , art and culture and most importantly, a ‘Spiritual Aspect’ that inculcates high spiritual and moral values among our students.

The various educational institutions run by the Society of St. Anne have been instrumental in educating a huge numbers of students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds with special focus on children belonging to SC, ST and BC and minority categories. St. Ann’s Schools and Colleges across Andhra Pradesh , Telangana and neighbouring states are synonymous with quality education especially for the ‘girl child’.
